| Home | I refined
my photographic technique as part of my thesis research for my Master
of Science in GIS (you can download a copy of my thesis
by clicking here).I
use kites and large helium-filled balloons to lift a high-resolution
digital camera. The camera captures several hundred images every
session. Through much practice, I've learned how to best position the
camera and platform (kite or balloon) to get exactly the shot I want.
I have taken tens of thousands of photographs and found that
I
always get what I want plus many more interesting shots. Airplanes and Helicopters cannot fly low enough or cause too much of a disturbance to capture the kind of images I can get with a kite or balloon. Sensitive subjects are my specialty. I can take pictures of herds of elk or a wedding service without disturbing the subjects. I can also dispatch my services at a moments notice and take pictures over the course of a day. For instance, I can take photographs of an interstection every minutes over several hours to show how traffic flows. Or, I can rush out to an intersection to capture detailed aerial images of an accident soon after it occurred.
